LITO Privacy Policy
This policy covers data handling in the LITO app for iPhone, iPad and Mac.
Data and its uses
LITO stores the item names, photos, quantities, units, movement dates, destinations or recipients, purposes, notes, inventory names, and receipt, issue and reversal history that you enter. This data is used to display stock and maintain records. Settings such as appearance and the currently open inventory are also stored on this device.
Photos selected or taken for items are resized and re-encoded as JPEG on your device. Images saved by LITO do not retain metadata such as the original photo's location. This does not change your photo library or original image files.
Storage and iCloud
Local inventories are stored in LITO's data area on this device. You can use them without enabling iCloud sync. LITO does not send inventory data to developer servers. The app includes no advertising SDKs or advertising tracking.
If you choose iCloud sync, items, photos, quantities, history and other inventory data are stored in Apple CloudKit. You can open the same inventory on devices using the same Apple Account. Ordinary inventories use that account's private database. For existing shared inventories, authorized participants can access content according to CloudKit sharing permissions.
Sync also uses inventory and operation identifiers, CloudKit user identifiers and operation timestamps to distinguish accounts, record history and prevent duplicate operations. To verify save results, the app may store unconfirmed operations or data awaiting upload on this device.
After a local inventory is uploaded to iCloud, the original local inventory remains on this device. Later cloud changes are not reflected in that original copy. iCloud data is managed through Apple's services.
Stopping sync and retention
To stop syncing an inventory on this device, close the current inventory in LITO Settings, then open a local inventory. This does not delete the original inventory in iCloud or stop sync on other devices. Switching to a local inventory does not automatically copy the latest cloud data into it.
Inventory records have no automatic expiry and are retained until you delete the relevant data. Closing an inventory is not deletion. Reversing a receipt or issue keeps the original record and adds an opposite entry. Archiving an item does not erase its history.
Deleting data
On iPhone or iPad, open Settings → General → iPhone Storage or iPad Storage, select LITO, and choose Delete App to remove local app data. Offload App keeps documents and data and does not clear local data. See Apple's storage guide.
On Mac, quit LITO, open Finder → Go → Go to Folder, and enter ~/Library/Containers/com.ligh-t-ouch.lito/Data/Library/Application Support/com.ligh-t-ouch.lito/. Delete the inventory, selection and unconfirmed-operation files in that folder. This also removes the original local inventories and local copies retained at upload on this Mac. Deleting the app alone may leave inventory data behind. Export any records you need first. If you cannot confirm the folder, contact support.
After deleting local data or the app, you must manage iCloud inventories separately. In your Apple Account's iCloud storage management, select LITO data and use Apple's deletion controls. On Mac, check System Settings → your name → iCloud → storage management. Names and available controls vary by OS. See Apple's guide to third-party app data in iCloud and iCloud storage management on Mac.
Actions available for shared inventories depend on owner and participant permissions. A participant stopping access does not delete data retained by the owner.
Deleting iCloud data affects other devices using the same data. Export anything you need before deleting it. The developer has no mechanism to delete your private CloudKit data on your behalf. Original local inventories, exported files and backups you create must each be deleted separately.
Exports and contact
Exported CSV, Excel and other files are saved to the location you choose. You manage their storage, sharing and deletion. Deleting an inventory or the app does not delete exported files.
